Weekly Gratis 2012: I'm Late for the New Year

Go figure, I'm late. I did not intentionally mean for this post to come so late this week, but unfortunately, here I am and it's Wednesday and I'm still working on this.

First things first - I am working on a craft retail calculator.

Whoa!? I know. Because if you are like me, figuring out the retail price of an item can be a bit tricky, and if there is a tool to help alleviate some headache, so be it.

Here are the specs I hope to give it:
  1. Three levels of pricing based on experience
  2. Back program considers time and cost of the item.
  3. Cost is defined as what did the materials cost, how much gas did you use to get it, did you have to pay shipping to get it, etc. Cost is everything it costs to make it.
  4. Once you enter your cost and time to make the item you will then be able to see a low, med and high price for the item.
I cannot say this will be the answer to all your pricing problems, but I can say it will get our community going in the right direction and maybe between all the smart, creative and computer savvy minds out there  - - this just might become the tool to use. Either way, I want you to know that it is in process and I will keep you updated on how it is going.

Craft Calculator Status: Back program written, now working on front end design and HTML logistics.

As for the actual project freebie this week I have a great one for you. It's a spool/thread organizer or caddy - I'll be posting this separately.
