Weekly Gratis 2012.4 | Crochet Abbreviations

As we all know, when referencing any pattern, it is important to know how to decode it. Today I'm going to give you an abbreviations list for crochet. I do not claim this will be a universal list, but it should get you going in the right direction. Feel free to post comments after if you have other abbreviations you'd like to see added. I'll update any relevant symbols I may have missed as they come up.

"I can no other answer make..."

..."but, thanks, and thanks." - - Shakespeare.

I would like to extend my utmost appreciation and gratitude to the site Craft Corners for the opportunity to post on their site. It was such a pleasure being a guest blogger for this site. You can read about how to make my Salvaged Reusable Kitchen Scrubbies written by non other than yours truly.

For those of you who have not explored other areas of Craft Corners, do so. They have a wonderful site filled with great projects written by excellent writers. The site is managed by an outstanding team of people and I assure you will find something amazing.

    Thanks again!

Weekly Gratis 2012.3: What do I do with this pile of junk?

Every week my recycle bin is boiling over with stuff and my trash can is quite sad; I should feel proud. However, I feel compelled to do something with these useless containers I send to be remade.

With a little help from some creative minds across the web I have found ways to salvage some of  these items from the recycle bin. Here are five stellar ideas to help you be the best up-cycled crafty crafter you can be:

    Paperboard: Cereal Box
Cereal Box Notepads by Beckie via www.infarrantlycreative.net

    Soft Plastics: Plastic Grocery Bags
    One-Bag Plastic Flowers by www.plasticbagcrafts.com

    Hard Plastics: Plastic Bottle

Wax Covered Paper Carton: 1/2 Gallon Milk Carton
Wool Carton Milk Jewelry by Alejandra Martinez via http://www.recyclart.org/

    Tin: Soda Can
Tin Can Stars by Ansie via http://www.craftster.org/

With any hope these fun and creative projects will get your inspiration flowing. Now I'm off to work in the studio for another day of high productivity.
